Children and Young People
As I was a teacher before I came to the counselling profession, I have had a lot of experience of working with young people. I work primarily with young people over 11 years of age and seek to offer, where beneficial, a more active approach to counselling. Many young people are more inclined to process their thoughts and emotions when 'doing' and being involved in an activity; although I offer the same calm, accepting and non-judgemental space to younger client as I do to adults. Clients can come to counselling with additional needs such as ADHD, OCD or Autism and we take this into account when we work together. Above all, I offer young people respect and honesty when I work with them.

I currently offer in-school counselling to schools in Manchester, Stockport and Cheshire East and I have experience of working with students who are outside of the main stream education provision. I also work with students who have been referred by the Children and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS) with a variety of issues including: anxiety, depression and trauma. I have worked with those experiencing gender dysphoria and undergoing gender transitioning as well as those experiencing LGTBQ+ issues.
