About Me

Counselling Experience

I have a range of different experiences as a counsellor.  I work with both adult and youth clients.  I am currently offering counselling in a number of schools: I have worked in both the independent and state sector, as well as counselling young people referred via the Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS).  I also work with adult clients in face-to-face settings and on-line and via the telephone.

I am a member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (membership number 398162)  and follow their ethical guidelines.  I have a current enhanced DBS check and am fully insured. I have completed Safeguarding training for both adults and children and keep up to date by taking a course each year.

Client data is stored in accordance with the Data Protection Act 2018 and I have had recent training in GDPR to ensure compliance meets today's standards.

I am committed to developing and expanding my own knowledge and counselling skills and in addition to my counselling diploma, I have attended a range of professional development courses and have added a Level 5 diploma in  CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy) to my skill set. This means we can work together on identifying unhelpful thought patterns and ways to address those.  I have also recently begun some additional training in trauma so this can further inform the way we work together.
