Counselling

I can offer support to adults dealing with issues such as anxiety, depression, stress, bereavement or loss.  Or, if you are feeling like you've lost your way and can't put your finger on what exactly it is that makes you feel like this, we can work together to help you.

Children and Young People

With over 16 years experience of working with children aged 11 and over, I offer a more creative approach to younger clients who may want to 'do' as well as talk.

Types of therapy

I can offer on-line sessions, telephone counselling or face-to-face at therapy rooms in Alderley Edge or Wilmslow.

About me

I am a qualified counsellor, with BACP membership, based in the Wilmslow/Alderley Edge area.  I offer you a safe and calm space to work through issues you may be facing.

I have experience working with a large charity in Stockport, a Christian counselling organisation and also a youth organisation.  I have worked extensively counselling young people in school settings across the state and private sector.

I bring over 16 years of experience of working with young people to my counselling work.

What I can offer you:

  • Talking Therapy

  • CBT

  • Therapy for Children and Young people

My approach

Trained initially in the person-centred approach,  I offer sessions that are devoted to your needs and goals.  We can work on goals you have identified, we can draw some goals up together or we can take a more organic approach and take each session as it comes.

Once qualified, I chose to study CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy) and can offer structured sessions with a view to look for patterns in thinking that may no longer be working for you. And we can explore how we can reframe these thoughts.

Attending a course on creative approaches to counselling means we can incorporate more active or imaginative ways to explore beliefs, thoughts and assumptions.

Getting Help

Life can be wonderful and exciting.... it can also be complicated and confusing.  Offering you empathy and acceptance of the situation as it is for you, we can focus on developing an inner strength and resilience so you can manage more easily.

Here are some of the reasons clients come to counselling.  There are many other reasons that you may seek help.

Anxiety

Low Self Esteem

Depression

Bereavement

Loss

It has been a very positive therapeutic experience for me and I feel as though I have taken something from every session.  I feel read and understood.
